Bandhej Saree
Bandhani refers to the traditional Indian 'tie and dye' art (resist-dyeing technique that uses impermeable threads for tying), used to produce beautiful, fine circular patterns on fabrics.
Banarasi Bandhej is an amalgamation of Banarasi heritage and old age tie and dye technique from the state of Gujarat and Rajasthan. To start with, the cloth used for the Bandhani saree is tied using impermeable thread in different patterns and designs. It is then dyed using beautiful solid colors.
Depending on the manner in which the cloth is tied, Bandhej patterns include Lehriya, Mothra, Ekdali etc. Bandhani is offered in different varieties; Ekdali means single knot, Trikunti means three knots; Chaubandi means four knots and Boond means small dot with a dark centre
