Tussar Silk Saree
Tussar silk (alternatively spelled as tussah, tushar, tassar, tussore, tasar, tussur, or tusser, and also known as (Sanskrit) kosa silk) is produced from larvae of several species of silkworms belonging to the moth genus Antheraea,
Tussar silk is obtained from silk moths of the antherea mylitta species. The moths look like mirror due to circular markings on them. When boiled, these silk moths produce naturally gold-coloured threads. The cocoons of the silk moths are single-shelled and are oval in shape
Tussar silk sarees have a natural dull gold colour, which make them a great choice for Indian weddings. We wouldn't be surprised if you already have a few embroidered tussar sarees with nature-inspired motifs in your own wardrobe
Tussar silk fibre is made of the protein secreted by the silkworm; its natural sheen, lightweight and affinity for dyes make it a great choice as a fabric. Silks of India are classified based on the varieties of silkworms from which they are spun.
